Home Office at 50% +

The Rumbold Financial & Tax Advisory home office is well on its way to completion. All the computer gear is now connected, functional, and neatly tucked in around the edges. The cable modem, wireless router, external backup hard drive, printer server and the two printers are all located in the wall unit to the right. The computer, scanner and new flat monitor are on the desk. I avoided having to have a new cable outlet put in the wall behind the wall unit by running the cable from the opposite wall under the edge of the carpet. Next I need to tackle the bookshelf and get all the files organized. Then hang my diplomas and a few pictures.

Did you get that chair from goodwill? Is that black tape I see on the L/armrest? For god sakes a man of your stature should have the Presidential Executive high back chair La-Z-Boy#L92218VCRT it's only $800-$1000. I hope you put some fake books in that bookcase to fill it up. Will you be serving coffee to the customer? Is the restroom presentable? How does the waiting room look? Is their a smoking section? Do you have a dog yet? When is the house warming party? Im hungry and need beer! Carry on Dude

You're busted on the chair dad! At least get a $100 leather chair from staples. And move the desk so its not in the corner of the room. I know you have enough books to fill the shelves up twice!

Ok, just for the record - I have had that chair (from Ikea) since 1989. That means it is 17 years old. I have had the seat and back reupholstered but the foam arm rests cannot be repaired so I hide them with black tape. And, both arms have tape on them. It will be very difficult parting with it and with the $2-3 hundred for a new one.

I agree about the chair, I was shocked that you still have it. Move the desk a little and get a couple more chairs for your clients!

Get over the shock. The upholstry is beautiful. Its just the arms that are a little aged like fine wine. How about I remove the arms? I can't move the desk because the office is smaller than it looks in the picture. One guest chair goes to the left of the desk and then there is the door. I know I need guest chairs. I am going to buy them Friday.

So basically that chair doesnt owe you anything and its been fully depreciated. Replace it, $100 chair from Staples.
I can see that we have some work to do when we come out in May!
